History:
The name Blanche comes from the days before mechanisation, when mules were used in the vineyards, as they were hardier than draughthorses.
Soil:
The Mule Blanche estate is located on a glacio-fluvial plain with clay-chalk soil.
Grape Variety:
50% of Roussanne and Marsanne grapes.
Age of the vines:
40 to 60 years.
Vinification:
The hand-picked grapes are put into small crates, the bunches pressed whole then vinified traditionally in wood.
Ageing:
Traditional ageing provides freshness in the mouth with a range of complex aromas.
Colour:
Pale yellow colour with attractive brightness.
Bouquet:
Aromatic nose of white flowers, hawthorn and acacia, with a delicate woody final note.
Palate:
Supple and well-rounded with an harmonious fresh finish.
